222 Speakeasy - Karaoke Restaurant
The entrance to 222 Speakeasy is a pink phone booth at the back of Mochi Dolci on West 79th Street on the Upper West Side. You step into the booth and the door swings open into something considerably weirder and more entertaining than what's outside.
The room has a Victorian-pink palette layered with Japanese cherry blossom decor, and the menu mixes Thai and Korean food with craft cocktails. Monday nights are karaoke. The rest of the week it runs as a restaurant and lounge with the speakeasy entrance staying in place regardless.
It's more of a themed bar than a strict cocktail destination, and it doesn't pretend otherwise. If you're on the Upper West Side and want something that's clearly trying to be fun, 222 generally delivers that.
