142 Sullivan Bar is on Sullivan Street at the SoHo and Greenwich Village border, with no sign outside and eighteen seats inside. Artist Vané Russo's groovy projections play on the walls, which gives the room visual movement that most small bars don't bother with. There's also a heated outdoor patio for anyone who wants the experience with more air around them.

The cocktail program is wine-forward in a way that's unusual for the category. The 142 Old Fashioned and the No-Groni No Cry are the two drinks that come up most. The Espresso Martini is there for the contingent that will not be dissuaded. The bar won Best of Manhattan awards for both cocktails and best wine bar in consecutive years between 2019 and 2021.

Eighteen seats and no signage means discovery is still part of the experience, even though the bar has been reviewed enough that it's not exactly hidden.
