Oldfield's Liquor Room
Oldfield's Liquor Room is named for Barney Oldfield, a pioneering automobile racer from the early 1900s, and the bar on Venice Boulevard keeps that legacy present through memorabilia and a design that nods to that era without being costume about it. The cocktail program is the main event, with all syrups and mixers made in-house and a rotating menu that takes seasonal ingredients seriously. Signature drinks include the Oldfield's Hemingway with rye, maraschino liqueur, grapefruit, and lime, and the Secret Stash with Beluga vodka, cucumber, and a house-made salted pistachio orgeat. Happy hour runs 5 to 9pm with cocktails at $7. The candlelit tables and unhurried pace make it a good option for a date or a slow evening drink in the Palms area.
