The Wash is Seattle's funky, Southwest-themed hangout that took over the old Rose Temple spot in Capitol Hill. Opened in May 2024, this cocktail lounge features a Hunter S. Thompsonian 1970s desert motel vibe, with framed photos of cacti and Route 66 signs, a colossal disco ball, red lighting, velvet couches, and lots of orange throughout. There's even a staged honeymoon suite in the back. The Wash is a kooky little bar that can shapeshift into different kinds of nights: a chill booth catch-up with beer on one end, or a few vodka sodas deep dancing to EDM on the other. The queer-friendly venue hosts various events and has become a vibrant part of the Capitol Hill community.
