Prohibition Taproom
Housed in a historic pub building dating back to the 1800s, Prohibition Taproom occupies the Spring Arts neighborhood with genuine character and a craft beer focus. While the name evokes speakeasy mystique, this is a modern gastropub that celebrates its location's history rather than its 18th Amendment mystique. Thirteen rotating taps feature American craft beers, including Hoppy Lil' Hudson, an English-style IPA brewed exclusively for the bar by local Sterling Pig Brewery. The daily-changing menu emphasizes locally farmed ingredients paired thoughtfully with the beers on tap. It's casual and unpretentious, with the kind of neighborhood bar charm that made Philadelphia's old pubs legendary in the first place.
