The Slipper Clutch
The Slipper Clutch is at the back of The Grayson Bar in DTLA, accessed through a separate entrance, and the aesthetic is deliberate punk dive: wheat-pasted walls covered in show flyers and motorcycle magazine pages, vintage arcade machines along one wall including Frogger and Ms. Pac-Man, and an outdoor patio in the back. Cocktails come off a soda gun as complete highball drinks, pre-built for speed and consistency rather than theater. The live music programming runs from punk to metal to hip-hop depending on the night. It is a graffiti-covered room inspired by New York punk bars and the film Mean Streets, and it does not try to be anything else.
