Lock and Key is a Koreatown speakeasy with one of the more memorable entry sequences in LA. Behind the red-door facade is a wall covered in doorknobs, and finding the right one to pull open gets you inside. The bar itself is low-lit with green banquettes, dark wood paneling, and brass accents that give it a polished underground feel without going too theatrical. The cocktails lean fruity and fresh with seasonal variations, and liquid nitrogen makes an appearance in some of the showier preparations. The food program is unexpectedly solid and includes Chicago-style deep dish pizza, fried chicken, and a battered deep-fried PB&J that people specifically mention in reviews.
