Good Times at Davey Wayne's
Good Times at Davey Wayne's is a Houston Hospitality bar in Hollywood that opened in 2014 as a tribute to the owners' late father, David Wayne Houston. The concept is a 70s house party that never ended, and the entrance makes the case immediately: you walk through what looks like a garage sale, past vintage bric-a-brac, and into the bar through an actual refrigerator door. Inside there is a living room setup with period-correct decor, an outdoor patio, and occasional live bands playing covers on weeknights. The spiked snow cone machine out back has become a signature thing that regulars mention specifically. The boozy snow cones are lighter than they taste. The vibe is loud, nostalgic, and not particularly serious, which is the entire point.
