Electric Owl
Electric Owl sits on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood on a triangular plot that used to be an old Pacific Electric trolley station, and the 1920s architectural bones give it a character most bars on the strip can't manufacture. The setup is mostly outdoor with covered and open sections, and it genuinely feels like drinking at a vintage train platform. Chef Ernesto Uchimura runs the kitchen, and the cheeseburger has developed a following independent of the bar itself. Happy hour starts at 4:20pm and features $6 cocktails including a Moscow mule with ginger liqueur. The spicy mezcal cocktail is consistently mentioned as the best thing to order. It has the energy of a real local bar rather than a Hollywood destination play.
