Off The Record
Off The Record is the coolest speakeasy in Downtown Houston, disguised as a classic vinyl record shop at 416 Main St. Behind the curtain, the cocktail bar feels like a party inside a swanky record cabinet, decked out with stacked vintage speakers, framed gold records, and shelves of old hip hop memorabilia. A 41-foot wraparound bar features 30 gold records on the wall from all-time top-selling albums including Nirvana, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Michael Jackson and Pink Floyd.
The venue honors music legend George Daniels, who opened the iconic George's Music Room in Chicago in 1969. Programming includes Motown Mondays, 80s Tuesdays, Latin and Reggae Wednesdays, and 90s on Wax Thursdays. Signature cocktails have names inspired by musicians and songs like "Love On The Run" ($13). Open Thursday-Sunday 8pm-2am.
