Prelude is a chic and moody cocktail bar in a historic house just west of downtown Austin, created by Chef Mathew Peters, an alum of Per Se and French Laundry. The refined space features dark floral wallpaper, jewel-toned velvet furniture, and warm lighting that creates an intimate, swanky atmosphere. The cocktail program showcases top-tier spirits in refined yet playful ways with drinks like Melon and Prosciutto, Cucumber and Rose, and Pines and Miso. Chef Peters' carefully selected menu of canapés and appetizers pairs beautifully with the cocktails. Named an OpenTable Austin Icon, Prelude serves as Peters' launching pad before opening his full tasting menu restaurant Maven. Closed Mondays and Sundays, with limited hours Tuesday through Thursday and extended service Friday and Saturday.
