Last Rites

Last Rites at 718 14th Street in the Duboce Triangle/Castro area opened in June 2018 as a "Polynesian Noir" bar set inside the fuselage of a crashed plane deep in a jungle. Drinks are served in scavenged bottles cut into glasses, creating an immersive post-apocalyptic tiki experience. Airplane seats serve as bar chairs and aerial-motif wooden tables dot the space. Beyond the plane lie vine-encrusted stone ruins decorated with huge stylized skulls. The cocktail menu departs from classic tiki while retaining experimental flavor combinations. The rum selection is extensive. The bar emphasizes experimentation with fermentation and out-of-the-box flavors. Open daily 5pm-1am.
