Elixir
Elixir
San Francisco's second oldest continually operating saloon stands at the corner of 16th and Guerrero in the Mission. Listed in "America's Top Whisky Bars," Elixir has served since at least 1858 and survived the 1906 earthquake, being rebuilt on the same spot by the same owner.
H. Joseph Ehrmann restored the Victorian bones in 2003 and brought craft cocktail culture to international prominence. The bar boasts over 600 whiskies and operates 365 days a year. The drink menu spans well drinks, low-alcohol and non-alcoholic cocktails, classic whiskey recipes, and exclusive Elixir originals.
Located at 3200 16th Street. Open Monday-Tuesday 4pm-10pm, Wednesday 4pm-midnight, Thursday-Friday 4pm-2am, Saturday noon-2am, Sunday 2pm-10pm. This is legendary San Francisco bar history.
