Note: Sousòl is temporarily closed. This pan-Caribbean cocktail bar beneath Kann restaurant was established in 2022, with the name Sousòl meaning "Basement" in Haitian-Creole. Chef Gregory Gourdet, who identifies as sober, developed both zero-proof and alcoholic cocktails with equal intention, featuring pan-Caribbean flavors that honor the cultural heritage of the Caribbean. The menu emphasized unique spice blends, citrus, and tropical fruits presented in visually vibrant displays. The design featured theatrical drama through fuchsia banquettes, custom furnishings, and art inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Esquire named Sousòl one of the best bars in the U.S. in 2023, recognizing its innovative approach to Caribbean cocktail culture.
