Shanghai Tunnel Bar is a basement dive bar in Old Town Chinatown named after Portland's famous Shanghai tunnels. The dank, brick-lined basement serves inexpensive drinks, loud music, pinball machines, and Asian-inspired food including Chinese chicken salad, miso and noodle soup, and quesadillas. After reopening from the pandemic in 2021, the focus shifted to the small street-level bar and patio next to the breezeway of the front door. It's got that authentic underground speakeasy vibe with character to spare.
