The Tippler is in the cellar beneath Chelsea Market at 425 West 15th Street, marked at street level by a small OPEN marquee sign. The build-out used reclaimed wood from old water towers and rail material from the nearby High Line, which gives the brick-lined space a texture that feels genuinely borrowed from the city rather than manufactured.

The beer program is strong, with seasonal draft and craft selections rotating throughout the year. The cocktail list is solid. There's wine. No reservations, so arriving early on weekends is not optional advice. The energy inside tends toward warm and lively without crossing into loud.

It's a Chelsea bar that happens to be underground and happens to use materials from the neighborhood. Those two things together are enough to make it feel like something that belongs here rather than something that was installed.
