Saint Tuesday is in the basement of the Walker Hotel Tribeca on Walker Street, but you don't enter through the hotel. You walk past the hotel doors, turn onto Cortlandt Alley, find a metal staircase going down, and ring a bell at the bottom. If everything is right, the door opens.

The room is candlelit concrete with marble tables and leather banquettes. Christopher Covey handles the cocktails, and they're precise without being overwrought: fresh-squeezed juices, clean technique, nothing extra. Custom drinks are available for $23.

Live music starts at 9:30 most nights. The programming focuses on gypsy jazz, Brazilian choro, and immigrant music traditions, which matches the basement's character better than a DJ would. Reservations are recommended. It's open every night of the week.
