Springwater

Springwater Supper Club and Lounge is Tennessee's oldest continuously operating bar, with some form of alcohol-selling establishment on site since 1896. The bar operated as a speakeasy during Prohibition and served as a hideout for notorious gangster Al Capone. Today this hybrid dive bar and live music hub sits at 115 27th Ave N hidden along the edge of Centennial Park, steps from Vanderbilt University. The layout is pure dive bar magic with two snug rooms split by an intervening wall, pool table on one side, postage stamp-sized stage on the other. Live music shows happen every night. Awesome quesadillas come from the kitchen. Beer runs $1.50 to $3, the cheapest in town. Only serves beer, cash only, 21 and up at all times. The Black Keys filmed a music video for Little Black Submarines here, turning a secret shoot into a spontaneous Nashville gig. Hours: 5pm onwards daily.
