Lagniappe is at 3425 NE 2nd Avenue in Edgewater and has been open since 2012. The name is a New Orleans term for a little something extra, and the place leans into that city's sensibility: a lush backyard, a relaxed pace, music every night.

The wine list runs to more than 200 bottles, heavy on small producers, organic, biodynamic, and raw wines. The format is choose-your-own: you pick a bottle, then build a cheese and charcuterie board from the selection. No reservations, first come first served. It has won awards as one of the top wine bars in the country and regularly appears on Miami best-of lists.

It's not a speakeasy in any structural sense, but it's the kind of place that doesn't advertise and doesn't need to.
