Wolf and Crane Bar is on 2nd Street in Little Tokyo and built its reputation on Japanese whisky, with a collection that includes rare bottles like Hibiki 30-year and Yamazaki 18-year Mizunara Cask alongside more accessible pours and a rotating selection of cask finishes. Proprietors Michael Francesconi and Matthew Glaser opened it as a neighborhood third-place, and the bar delivers on that intention: the room is casual and social, the music moves between genres depending on who is DJing, and the house cocktails include things like a Hong Kong milk tea-inspired clarified milk punch and a mango sake spritz for people who want something other than whisky neat. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 5 to 7pm. The combination of a serious whisky program and a genuinely relaxed atmosphere is not common in DTLA.
