The Majestic
The Majestic Restaurant occupies the historic Fitzpatrick Saloon building, a structure built in 1911 that's seen over a century of Kansas City history as a saloon, speakeasy, gambling den, and house of ill repute. The restored bar dates to 1910, the pressed tin ceiling speaks of earlier elegance, and an eighteen-foot mural by local artist Jack O'Hara celebrates Kansas City's artists and entertainers. Over three hundred whiskeys back a serious cocktail program, with Old Fashioneds and Manhattans that are the stuff of legend. Live jazz plays seven nights a week in the lower-level Jazz Club and in the main dining room. This is where speakeasy history breathes through the walls while the present moment unfolds at the bar.
