9th & State
9th & State is nestled in the West Bottoms in a building Pabst Brewing Co. built in 1911, a structure that's served as saloon, casino, jazz venue, and fetish club. During Prohibition, the 9th and State Line area was known as the Wettest Block in the World, with two dozen storefronts packed with saloons and liquor retailers on a single block. Original tin ceilings and colorfully tiled floors from the early nineteen hundreds frame the current space, where craft cocktails share the stage with ping pong tables and live music. The venue was created with a goal to be welcoming to everyone while supporting local musicians and artists. Ten percent of sales from the cocktails-for-good section benefit organizations like the Huntington's Disease Society of America.
