Julep is a classic cocktail bar rooted in the global flavors of Houston, founded in 2014 by Alba Huerta. While Julep is sometimes categorized as a speakeasy in directories, Huerta intentionally chose NOT to make it a traditional hidden bar. Instead, she created a "speak-loudly" destination that boldly celebrates cocktail culture with open visibility.

Located at 1919 Washington Ave, Julep was recognized as one of North America's 50 Best Bars in 2022 and earned a James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar Program. The bar blends Southern hospitality, modernity, and Mexican-American heritage into each drink. The cocktail menu features both timeless classics and inspired originals that showcase global influences. Open Sunday-Wednesday 4pm-midnight, Thursday-Saturday 4pm-2am.
