The High Lonesome
The High Lonesome is a neighborhood bar in Denver's Lower Highland district built for folks who want to hunker down over rare bourbons and craft beers without worrying about the outside world. Located at 3360 Navajo Street, it's dark, comfortable, and inviting in a way that feels authentically Denver.
The decor nods to old Colorado dive bars with a taxidermied buffalo head mounted on the wall, amber glass light fixtures, leather booths, and framed pictures of cowboys. But this is clearly a modern bar with serious taste. The whiskey-centric cocktail menu, great craft beer selection, real CD jukebox, and pool table make it a complete package for a proper night out.
Special events include Whiskey Wednesdays, $2 tallboys on Tuesdays, and first and last Wednesday bike nights that welcome motorcycle enthusiasts with drink specials and catered food. Open daily from 4pm-2am (Saturday from 2pm-2am), The High Lonesome is the kind of bar you'll want to tell your friends about.
