Skylark Lounge has been a Denver institution since 1943, starting as a bar for local workers in the same building for nearly 60 years before moving to its current spot at 140 South Broadway in the Baker neighborhood in 2003.

Today, Skylark is both a neighborhood bar and independent music venue with a well-stocked horseshoe bar and a checkerboard floor in the upstairs concert hall known as the Bobcat Club. The venue hosts live music from cool local and national acts most Thursday through Saturday nights, though they're willing to book traveling bands on other days too. Pool tables and a photo booth add to the fun atmosphere.

In 2021, ownership passed to Bob Ashby, Nathaniel Rateliff, and a group of investors, keeping this Denver gem alive for the next generation of music lovers and cocktail enthusiasts.
