Untitled is the kind of place that rewards showing up hungry. It's a full supper club in the Prohibition-revival style, spread across 18,000 square feet underground in River North, with four distinct bars (the Library, Cabaret, Backstage, and Drawing Room) and a kitchen that has earned eight Michelin Bib Gourmand awards. The prime rib sliders and cornbread come up in nearly every positive review, often unprompted.

The whiskey program is what draws a specific crowd. Untitled claims the largest selection of American whiskies in the world, a statement that's hard to argue with once you're looking at the menu.

Live music runs Wednesday through Saturday: jazz, blues, soul, R&B, and occasional cabaret. The performers are generally serious musicians playing to a room that's actually paying attention. It's a bigger venue than the word "speakeasy" typically implies, but the experience is more intimate than the size suggests once you settle into one of the four rooms. Sit in the Cabaret section if there's a show.
