Chicago
Billy Sunday
Billy Sunday is named after the Prohibition-era evangelist who was born in Iowa and spent a career preaching against alcohol. Opening a bar named after him in Logan Square is a joke that works precisely because the bar is serious. One of the largest amaro and fernet collections in North America, a deep selection of rare scotch, bourbon, and rum, and cocktails that Yelp reviewers and spirit professionals agree are among the best in the city.
The food is elevated bar menu: sister restaurant to Yusho and A10. The staff knows the bottles behind them without being pretentious about it, which is the combination that keeps people coming back.
